Awakening The Emotion at Retail

Walk in to the store, select, try it on and buy it! Not all retail brands fall in this bracket.
Sometimes we come across a brand, where the ideology is so intricate, and its ecosystem so vast, that as designers of branded environments, it requires us to immerse and pack all that flavour into a few thousand square feet. Creating a space that gives the overarching message and philosophy of the brand in a simple yet impactful way.
Putting aside the game of transactions, designing for emotions is the key here!
Excitement, Soothing, Healing, Pampering or Playful.
Whatever emotional experience you plan to create, you must ensure that the customer cherishes the experience for a long time. An emotion that creates recall and bring them back to the store.

What we need to do:
  • Avoid all obstacles that interferes with the emotion that you plan to create for your customer. For e.g.: Follow clutter-free and minimal colours for a soothing environment to relax the customer walking in. And do away with loud signs or communication.
  • Create an entry that is impactful and make customers get into the zone, switch off from everything else they are doing
  • Engage the five senses of touch, smell, sound, sight and taste too!
  • Anticipate what they may be looking for and what they want to understand. Well designed store communication, guides and store associates must be able to steer the customers through the store.
  • This is no ordinary store, so let customers expect the unexpected. Whether its an in-store service, such as consultation or personalising a product
